The World
The realm is fictional, but draws inspiration from medieval France for its architecture, villages, landscapes and atmosphere. It is a living world where every character has their own habits and values.
Narrative
The Story
In an age where famine and revolt overtake a medieval region, the king secretly sends his soldiers and mercenaries to retake the villages. [Name], a seventeen-year-old girl, flees with her ten-year-old little brother—unaware that a single key taken in haste will place them at the heart of a secret that threatens the realm.
Shadows of the Realm does not tell the story of a hero who must save the world.
It tells the story of a young girl who simply tries to survive.
Survive what is coming.
Understand what is happening.
Protect her little brother.
And, if she can, protect the members of her family.
